A brief history

Until the 1940s, Dubai was a small settlement. Citizens made a living by selling pearls and exchanging them for food. Later, when the Japanese discovered a way to artificially grow pearls, the need for real pearls in the international market decreased significantly. As a result, a crisis began in the Emirates. However, soon after the discovery of oil in the UAE, everything changed completely.

At the beginning of the 19th century, the population of Dubai was only 1,200 people, but now its population exceeds 3.5 million people. The area is 1620 square kilometers and it continues to expand.
